i Kayhan! We have organizations for women re: domstic violence issues. We have some events every so often to collect money for the cause. I feel, that is not enough. Teaching young adults regarding domestic violence issues should be a part of the organizations too. I noticed the statistics of women being abused, or even murdered does not go down; the phonecalls from desperate women do not slow down. There is some constant factor, and we all have to do something more than what we are doing. The collected money is never enough to help these women. What would be your advice? Could you please guide us-the women? Thank you, j.s.

Yes, j.s. education and outreach are very important parts of the equation. Telling stories, sharing experiences, and building people's consciousness about the problem are all ways to ensure that a certain level of understanding is built. Working with the abuser and with children who have been in an abusive home is also a way you can address the problem. After all, many abusers come from homes where there was abuse.
