Frances Fox Piven is an honorary chair of the DSA and an eminent scholar of American politics and social movements. She is a distinguished Sociologist at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, author of Poor People’s Movements, Why Americans Don’t Vote, The New Class War and numerous other books and articles. Her most recent book is Who’s Afraid of Francis Fox Piven: The Essential Writings of the Professor Glenn Beck Loves to Hate.
